Jennifer McGee, Vice President of Customer Relations and Strategic Development, Manhattan Pipeline.
2. Share about your family, hometown, and where you live
Jennifer cherishes her vibrant family life in St. Louis, Missouri, where she lives with her husband of 25 years. A proud stepmom to a stepson and stepdaughter, she’s also a doting grandmother to two grandchildren. Her two sons keep her busy—one is a financial accountant recently engaged, and the other is thriving as a college football player studying Construction Management at Pittsburg State University.
3. What is your industry experience?
Jennifer’s career began in biotech as a genetic engineer, but a move to Tulsa, Oklahoma, 15 years ago led her to the oil and gas industry. Starting as a project coordinator, she climbed the ranks through project management and operations, eventually becoming Vice President of Operations. Today, she thrives in her role at Manhattan Pipeline, focusing on business development, strategic leadership, and fostering meaningful relationships.
4. What do you do when you’re not at work? Hobbies? Family time?
When she’s not working, Jennifer loves motorcycle rides along the scenic River Road in Alton, Illinois, or enjoying live music with friends. She’s also a self-proclaimed “science nerd,” spending quality time with her grandchildren at the science center for planetarium shows or Omnimax films. In the fall, you’ll find her cheering at her youngest son’s college football games, proudly supporting the Pittsburg State Gorillas.
5. Where do you see yourself one year from today?
Jennifer aims to continue excelling in her Vice President role, driving growth for her team and Manhattan Pipeline with purpose and momentum. “A year passes quickly,” she says, “but I’m focused on building a stronger, more impactful business.”
6. What is your biggest challenge?
Jennifer faces two key challenges. First, time management—splitting her life between St. Louis and Tulsa while traveling 80% of the time makes self-care and family time precious. She prioritizes being fully present with loved ones to create lasting memories. Second, as a woman in the energy industry, she’s working to break through the “glass ceiling” into a senior executive role. “It feels more like rubber sometimes,” she admits, but her persistence and commitment to paving the way for others keep her motivated.
7. Who are your role models, and why?
Jennifer draws inspiration from both personal and professional role models. Her husband taught her the value of patience and active listening, shaping her leadership style. Former bosses showed her the importance of investing in people’s growth. Her missionary service in the Philippines was transformative, teaching her to embrace diverse perspectives and value others’ input—a principle that guides her daily.
8. What is your number one goal?
Jennifer’s ultimate goal is to leave a legacy of impact and inspiration. “I want people to achieve greatness because I supported and believed in them,” she says. More than titles, she hopes to be remembered for spreading joy and encouraging others to embrace it, no matter the circumstances.
9. What are you most excited about right now?
Jennifer is eagerly anticipating an upcoming family vacation to unplug and reconnect. She’s also passionate about celebrating the progress of women in the energy industry, from more inclusive policies to improved workplace flexibility and balanced management cultures. “There’s still work to do, but the momentum is real,” she says proudly.
10. What are you most grateful for right now?
Above all, Jennifer is thankful for her family’s unwavering support, which fuels her drive. She’s also grateful for the opportunities that have shaped her journey, each challenge and triumph teaching her valuable lessons along the way.
