The Utility Change Conference recently took place at West Monroe’s offices in Chicago, offering a valuable two-day experience for utility professionals focused on managing change, improving employee engagement, and fostering continuous improvement.

Hosted by Exelon and ComEd, the event brought together Utility Leaders, Change Practitioners, Transformation Executives, and Process Professionals from across North America. Attendees had the opportunity to LEARN, SHARE, and GROW through a variety of engaging formats, including presentations, peer-to-peer discussions, and facilitated learning sessions.

A key focus of the conference was the sharing of best practices, insights, and lessons learned. Utility professionals openly discussed their experiences implementing new systems or upgrades, managing enterprise change portfolios, navigating difficult culture shifts, and simplifying change project reporting. Continuous improvement initiatives were also a prominent topic, with attendees eager to learn what has worked (and what hasn’t) for their peers.

Attendees had the chance to connect with leaders from prominent utilities such as ComEd, Nicor Gas, Southwest Gas, Muscatine Power & Water, American Water, Entergy, and Exelon, among others. This provided a unique platform for benchmarking strategies and tactics with organizations facing similar challenges and opportunities.

The conference agenda featured discussions on a wide range of utility-focused topics, including Grid Modernization, CIS upgrades, AMI, Renewables, and AI. These conversations provided invaluable insights that are often difficult to find elsewhere, ensuring that attendees gained significant value from their participation.

Many organizations brought their teams to the conference, recognizing the importance of hearing firsthand how other utilities are navigating culture shifts, massive change projects, remote workforce challenges, and continuous improvement initiatives. The event also served as an opportunity to build a network of passionate leaders who can provide ongoing guidance and support.

Hosted by ComEd & Exelon at the downtown Chicago offices of West Monroe, the conference provided attendees with actionable insights and advice that they could implement immediately within their own organizations.

The Utility Change Conference proved to be a resounding success, empowering utility professionals with the knowledge and connections needed to drive positive change within their organizations.
