Top 5 Ways Utilities Use Social Media

March 14, 2017 by Gus Calabrese

Social media is a key communication tool. Leading organizations have dedicated teams, agencies, and brand influencers communicating through the major platforms. In the past, utility companies have been slow to adopt these new communication tools. That’s not the case today! Top utilities focusing on customers, employees, and branding use the power of social media to get the job done. Here are 5 examples of that:

  1. Public Safety and Awareness: Duke Energy uses Social media to inform the public of threats beyond downed wires #Facebook
  2. Employee Recognition: Alabama Power shares one of their employees is involved in power in more ways than one #Facebook
  3. Educating Future Employees: We Energies employees share what it’s like working as a line mechanic #YouTube
  4. Outage Management: PECO keeps customers informed during Blizzard Stella #twitter
