How does your utility manage knowledge sharing?

How does your utility manage knowledge sharing?

Want to see how an award-winning program does it? Of course you do…

NextEra Energy Deployed a Knowledge Sharing Program Across its Enterprise

Every utility can relate to this.

As the Energy workforce is aging and retiring at higher rates, it is also increasingly mobile and no longer tied to one employer over the course of a career. Many of these workers leave their companies and take valuable accumulated knowledge captured over the years from working in a geographically dispersed corporation. Sounds familiar, yes?

To combat the loss of knowledge, NextEra Energy deployed a robust active Knowledge Sharing program to compliment the more established Operational Excellence program that had been in place since the 1980s.

At the Process Excellence for Utilities conference, September 19-20, 2018 in Palm Springs, learn how NextEra Energy now has the ability to capture tacit knowledge and compliment the Operational Excellence program, which resulted in significant financial benefits and the ability to solve business wide programs more efficiently and effectively.

Blaine Taylor, former Director of Corporate Operational Excellence, Strategy Deployment and Knowledge Management of NextEra will discuss how the program was created, deployed and integrated. With the creation of over 25 knowledge topic networks, the company was able to solve problems without creating formal projects, include more people in the discussion and solution which accelerated adoption and replication of the solution, and created sustainable results. In 2017 the Corporation’s Operational Excellence and Knowledge Sharing programs were recognized as globally award-winning programs.

Come meet Blaine in person, at the Process Excellence for Utilities Conference September 19 – 20, 2018 in Palm Springs CA.
